Day Two of Missouri Early Canada Goose Season, Hunt #2. -- :) :) :) Looks like OLD DEADEYE is back. Another beautiful morning for hunting, slight breeze from the southwest, about 45 degrees with a gorgeous sunrise. Only noise was the Old Hoot Owl in the distance. Perfect morning. Nothing was flying early on and I started to think, word got around to the geese I was hunting and the geese were scared of me and decided to stay home. I could hear them honking on the lake, so I knew they were still around. Shortly before 8:00 the noise of the geese started to reach a crescendo, so I knew some were on the move. Hoped they would come my way and they did. Small flock of about 15 started coming my way, at about 100 yards three of them broke off and started to veer to the east, the others flew over, but just out of range. When they got about 150 yards out, they all started turning. The group of three were the first to commit to the decoys and the game was on. When they got into shooting range, the ACE SHOOTER -- OLD DEADEYE JIM pulled up. Bang - one goose drops, bang - the second goose drops. Then a little voice in my head said: Careful, remember yesterday! So I put hard focus on the third goose and bang - goose number three drops. Three geese in, three shots taken, equals a three goose limit. THE GUIDE put himself in a great spot again.
