Day after Niners post...Here are the ramblings of a still depressed Niners fan. This morning I was thinking I almost miss the days when we were 2-14, 3-13, etc. as there is no expectations to win. Playing well, or at least being in the game for a half was satisfaction enough. We got spoiled the last three years and now we are thinking not just playoffs, but we are always expecting a run at the Super Bowl. That makes the disaster of last night that much tougher to take. But you know what - I LOVE THAT FEELING!! I dont want to settle for morale victories - I want it all. This leads me to my next vent - I am tired of Faithful - and I am a member of many 49ers groups - that feel if you criticize, then you are not a real fan. What a crock of shit!!!!! In no way does that mean we dont love our team - hell I have a 16 year old daughter named Montana!!! What it means we are seeing things that concern us and we need to correct them. Its funny, there are a multitude of things wrong with the Niners now and we are still 7-5. There are plenty of teams that would love to be 7-5 right now and yet here we are all pissed with the state of the team!!! We are the real fans...we will always root for our boys, but we dont do it blindly. We are not content squeaking out wins over the shitty teams, we want dominance and we want it all the time. There is nothing wrong with that. Finally - Kap. Hmmm, not sure where to start. Its easy to say he sucks now, but step back for a minute. He has taken us to three straight NFC title games and one Super Bowl. I was an Alex Smith guy when all the shit went down, but as Kap played, I bought into everything. Take a look at the offense in the regular season as compared to the playoffs...It is a different team. What makes him great is the threat of the run, not the threat of him passing from the pocket. All last year I heard well defenses have learned how to play Karp. Then we got to the playoffs and Kap took off again. Now I am hearing the same shit. Ok as a pocket passer Kap is average to shitty, Let him play and he is elite. In the past few years we were able to play vanilla and get into the playoffs. Not any more. The improvement of Arizona and St. Louis as well as the absolute pathetic NFC South are making it tougher to just get in. We have to let Kap play the rest of the season. Either he thrives or he sucks - but lets see him in his element. We didnt draft him and get rid of Alex to be Dan Fouts, did we??? At this point, looking at the overall body of work I want both him and Harbs to stay...Greg Roman??? lets see....Maybe Baalkes daughter should be the OC??? Anyway, thinking I could keep going, but thats enough for now.....Cheers and GO NINERS!!!!
