Day one of the SHPE conference just ended. -Most of our members have interviews scheduled for companies like Honda, Cummins, EATON, GM, Toyota, Boeing, UTC and Lockheed Martin. -We have super strong gusts of 52 degree wind and a lot of rain, but that is no problem because there are catwalks, skywalks and underground tunnels to get you from every hotel to the conference center without having to carry a jacket! -Our hotel was awesome! Like towel elephants on your bed, awesome. -The Indie Conference Center is huge! -Extreme Engineering was awesome! -There were some really cool workshops including: Industrial Engineering Diaper Design by P&G, Mechanical Engineering Lego Challenge with Cummins, Conflict Resolution by DOW, Aeronautical Engineering Challenges of the 23rd Century by Boeing and the Resume Workshop by Lockheed Martin. -Foodwise, I cant name all the stuff we had, but we had some delicious pastries and coffee for breakfast, chicken something something for lunch with crumbled velvet cake. For Dinner we had Cobe beef sliders, mashed potatoes with shredded beef and scampy shrimp at the Hospitality Suites. -I just got out of the spa of the hotel, this place is awesome (JW Marriot, Indianapolis, google it!) -Tomorrow, more workshops, career fair and more hospitality suites. -Ask anybody that has been to any SHPE conference. This event is fun, epic and life-changing. -We will be fundraising big time this year. My wish is to have all our active members experience this next year at Detroit, where BTW three brand new cars will be raffled among the attendees... -I dressed as Harry Potter.
