Day one of the annual anti-freeze infusions is over and Im being well looked after by my better half. Worst picc line insertion ever. The dr hit a nerve in my arm as he went in my bicep which promptly sent shooting pains right down to my wrist. We then had numerous attempts at getting the line in because the nurses hadnt checked my height and had chosen one that was too short. Once the picc was eventually in and I was about to change out the very flattering gown, I proceeded to bleed very heavily out the incision. Cue 2 nurses frantically helping me to stem the flow and replace all the paraphernalia that goes with infusions. Its as well that Ive become desensitised to this sort of thing. On the plus side, Ive my own bed and had a whole bay to myself until 2pm. And I have to say that all the NHS staff have been fantastic.
