Day three of the deeply corrupted version of Five Of The Best. Ill - TopicsExpress

Day three of the deeply corrupted version of Five Of The Best. Ill be dedicating a song to five of the individuals who have had a deep and lasting impact upon me as a person. Today it is the turn of the only non-Facebook mate I have and that is my friend and co-writer Robert Ramsay. Rob is one of the strangest people Ive ever encountered but behind all the endless film and TV quotes that make up about 40% of everything he says, lurks an incredibly perceptive and clued in individual. Rob KNOWS what drives people and it is the knowledge that makes hims such a formidable, entertaining and original lyricist and performer. Be you a homeless person or a captain of industry, hell treat you exactly the same. The fame game is utterly irrelevant to Rob, as is name dropping or social ladder climbing. The only thing he truly detests is stupidity. Do that and youll become invisible to him is less time it takes to say But you dont understand, sorting out the Middle East crisis is simple! He does understand. He thinks clever stuff like most people breath. Hes very good at it and hes my best mate. Over the years, Rob has introduced me to many a great band or artists but perhaps the one band which I most readily associate with him is Ex-Slap Happy and Henry Cow man Peter Blegvad. His singing style is more akin to a Dylan-esque speaking in tune delivery but over the years, he has developed an amazing lyrical style and his words have real power, humour and depth. Each song is a little story unto itself. Listen to the words on this tune. They are magnificent. youtu.be/d9ZwWoepARc
