DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Acts 4:11-12 – Jesus is “the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.” Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Nowadays, people have the choice to do whatever they want…. under law of course but even that at times doesn’t deter us from wanting to embark upon our own wants and desires. We continue to invent ways of satisfying our cravings and look past morale into every other practical enticing doctrine that we come across. This is a huge problem in our society today. It suggests that we can throw out anything we deem as old or unusable and replace it with the new trend of today. It reminds me of how cars used to be built and how they are constructed now. In the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s cars were created to be massive beasts! Iron and metal were the foundations of a firm and practically indestructible vehicle. Then enter into the 90’s to current and the trend of carbon composite and much less durable material make up our modes of transportation. Why is this significant? Well we felt that as ingenuity and times changed, so should our ability to evolve the state of constructing the future’s vehicle. Now, are cars today any more safe than they were back then? With the exception of mandatory seatbelts, that’s a debate I’ll leave to you all. On the other hand, we can look at this in a spiritual context as well. Let’s examine this further; no one rejects to having a car, but everyone has an idea on how they think the car should be made. When we walk Jesus in this life we have to be determined and convinced that he is the only way that salvation is granted. In the days when Jesus walked this Earth, others believed that he couldn’t be the Son of God and they wanted to hold onto what they thought was the correct way to please God. They wanted a Messiah but only as a great King who would be ultra-dominant on Earth. Their arrogance was their blindness. This is the same with us today. We have come up with all these acceptable new forms of connecting with a god or “a higher power” and think that our ideas on the matter are correct. We want to make an improvement on something that is already simply perfect as is. So what about you? Have you fallen into the trap of believing that there is a better way to get to God than through Jesus Christ? Do you want to use new stones and get rid of the original cornerstone that God has made to be the foundation of truth? Are you tired of the solid construction that the bible presents and are looking for the new trendy, flimsy material that others may be teaching? The truth of the matter is we believe that we should be in flying cars; i.e. there is universalism in getting to our destination. Today, I’m going to ruin someone’s party because I am going to let the truth be spoken from God’s word. Whether you’re eyeing for that new look or an exciting trendy blend, there is only one way that will absolutely stay in place through the test of time. The cornerstone that has been put in place to establish the church has lived and thrived for thousands of years. New age philosophies and trendy sects may come about from time to time but the original stays intact. Before you go with others notions and want to jump on board with all the new things that come your way, consider this; people wants a new spin on the car but people also know that they need a car to get to where they want to go. Simply put, people want to believe in something but they want to have their own set of rules and way to get to their god or “higher power”. What vehicle are you going to rely on to get you into heaven to be with God? Many road and vehicles will get you to a destination, however only one vehicle will get you to God. Today we pray that you’re checking your Jesus GPS (Godly Positioning System) and are on the right track that leads to God. Don’t follow the crowd and get lost in the shuffle. There is only one way to God and it’s through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We pray you find that truth to be your foundation and guide that leads you and others to God. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
