Dayanara C. Gonzales BSED III-B JEEP3 (Accelerate 1) WS, 2:30-4:00 Mindanao; Blessed or Cursed? Typhoon- Luzon and Mindanao. Earthquake- Visayas and Mindanao. War- Mindanao. See how in demand Mindanao in terms of danger? We encountered it all, but here we are, alive and continue reaching our dreams. When things go wrong, the first thing that will come into your mind is the benefit of these happenings, RIGHT? Tell me, as a student, what comes into your mind when you have a 7:00am class and it happened that your teacher is very strict when it comes into punctuality, and while you are still half awake your roommate told you about the “good-bad news” that classes are suspended because there is a WAR going on somewhere in town? Won’t you say “Yes! No class”-----Okay. Cut the crap. What I really felt that moment was a bit relief that I still have a lot of time to do what I need to do at the same time, I am expecting that the crisis will end just a day or two because as a time goes by, more and more family are affected with the crisis. Many civilians are suffering because of the war between the bad elements and the Philippine Government. Every now and then our family keeps on contacting us, while we are also contacting our classmates specially those at the critical area. Until my Mom decided to bring me back in our hometown. And there I died. Just kidding, I’m still alive and kicking. Well it was the longest time of my life. Why? Because boredom is killing me softly. I just lock myself in my bedroom for I don’t know how long and will get out if it’s meal time and I start to cursing all the people who made these things happen. If not because of their stupidity and selfishness, that crisis won’t happen. I won’t get stock in my house doing nothing, I will have time learning and doing my task even if it’s a bit tiring in school and I will still have the chance to take a glance at my crush. JOKE. The worst things happened, many families lose their homes, their source of living and what hurts the most, others were unable to find some members of their family. After the long wait, after the suffering, after the thousand prayers, after the bloody war, a new hope came to all the citizen of Zamboanga, when the crisis was gone. Everyone now has the chance to rise again and made use of what is left. From what I have experienced and what I have learned in this subject (JEEP3), it taught me not only how to speak accurately and fluently, how to construct sentences properly but also how I communicate with other people. How I extended my hand to them, even if we are miles apart to the person I am communicating with. This subject helped me on how to deal with the different people I contacted during the crisis and the typhoon. After all these happenings, I could not surpassed it without the aid of my friends/classmates, so, I would like to say thank you to them, for giving me enough information for I am far away from here. I also want to say a lot of thanks to my parents, they really sleep late at night just to make sure my safety and my where about. They never stop bugging me until I reached our hometown. Above all, I would like to say my great thanks, praises and prayer for our Almighty God for hearing our prayer and never left our side, for helping us and giving us strength to continue living each day and for giving us new hope.
