Dear ARU, I realise you normally expect a longer, more detailed resume and job application, but given the short time frame in which you need to find a new Qantas Wallabies coach and the current toxicity of the job, I hope this will suffice. My coaching record isn’t terribly extensive (I coached the Goulburn Dirty Reds third grade side in 1997) nor terribly successful (they lost every game aside from the ones they forfeited, and then folded the very next year), but I work cheap and have low expectations. I don’t like to brag, but I also know the words to the anthem. I may also be the only winger in history to play 100 games without scoring a single try. Worth looking into if you appreciate records and such. To be honest, I think your biggest problem is you keep choosing capable coaches, pairing them with a basically ok side that thinks they have nothing else to learn and don’t need fancy stuff like discipline and accountability, only to then part with the coach saying no-one likes him and he’s not good enough. So here’s the thing. I’m already not good enough and not terribly well liked. So….save yourselves the time and the heartache. Avoid the inevitable, cut out the middle man and cut to the chase. Employ me. Failing that, any chance of a Wallabies Jersey? Or a cap. I’ll settle for a cap. Yours in rugby, Chris Gordon
