Dear All GGCG ADVOCATES, Weve just noticed and our attention has just been drawn to the posts by some individuals signalling their partisan political preferences, in particular their obvious choice of one candidate over another in this months presidential election. Let us be clear on this: The GGCG Advocacy Platform, the e-mail and associated links such as the twitter handle and face book page, should not be used in any way for canvassing partisan political preferences or choices. The Platform is not for politics, ethnic or clannish nationalism or religious jingoism. It is dedicated strictly for the defence, promotion, and protection of the rights of Nigerians, especially those that are down trodden, alienated, marginalised, and poverty-stricken. As we seek together to bring about change in our polity through awareness creation, sensitisation, and conscientisation, we should also be understood in the same vein to be preaching the gospel of good and responsible citizenship on the part of Nigerians. We have no doubt that Nigerians, majority of Nigerians, are good and responsible people, and therefore amenable to change, disposed to heed the rule of law. We believe in the true character of Nigerians, who are known to be legendary ardent followers, once the leadership shows example. So, please, we should not mislead a greater majority of our compatriots by canvassing partisan political choices on the GGCG Platform. We should desist from that or else we should not complain if our subscription is cancelled as a result. We reserve the prerogative to take out anyone found wanting or abusing the process.
