Dear All, There are more females who are affected by Endometriosis every year. Malaysians generally are not aware of what is Endometriosis and why do some women have this condition. This is due to the fact that people here are quite uncomfortable speaking about menstrual health openly. Endometriosis happens when endometrial cells from the uterus develop in other areas of the body and may cause pain, irregular bleeding and infertility. It is a known fact that Endometriosis impacts the physical, social and mental well being of females during the productive period of their life. The main concern is that there is a delay before the average females with the disease are diagnosed. The delay can be primarily blamed on the lack of awareness here in Malaysia due mainly to the social taboos associated with Endometriosis. Therefore a workshop is relevant to address this issue. This workshop is a collaborative effort of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Endometriosis Association (MyEndosis), Centre for Extension Education (CEE), and Centre for Media and Creative Communication (CMCC) from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman.
