Dear All, We are currently seeking to recruit a Trainee Building Services Technician to join the team here in Bedford on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for a recent school or college leaver to learn new skills and get experience within the building services sector of the construction industry. The Trainee Technician position is required to work within the building services engineering team. The successful candidate will learn to undertake mechanical and electrical engineering designs associated with buildings including residential, commercial, mixed use commercial schemes, urban town centre regenerations schemes, student accommodation buildings, business parks, extra care facilities, hotels and leisure facilities. The role will also involve integration of sustainability, energy conservation and environmental engineering measures. The post will also require the successful candidate to provide support to the Senior Utility Coordinator in assessing site constraints and the implications of diversionary work associated, determining incoming utility services requirements to site as part of the master planning role and the preparation of infrastructure reports as part of the due diligence process to inform design. Minimum requirements for the Trainee Technician is as follows: At least five GCSEs (or equivalent) including Science, a Technology subject and a grade B or above in Maths and English At least two A-Levels (Maths and Science preferred) Good inter-personal skills. Competent in IT (Microsoft office), good standard of oral and written presentation. The ability to create neat and accurate technical drawings Good use of English, both written and oral.
