Dear All, please bear with me on this, don’t read this if you are in a hurry cause this gonna to be long episode … I put it in chronological order. 01/06/2013 (service no: MYA 1360 043) I visited Asus Malaysia service center (Low Yat branch) to repair my just one year old Asus EeePC VX6S due to blue screen with shut down symptom. 03/06/2013 I received an email form Asus’s Susan Chu who quoted me of RM250 for the replacement of HDD (failure), I replied with my consent to repair on the same day. 12/06/2013 I collected the unit and found: 1)Wrong image installed The unit was installed with EeePC 1215 series image instead of VX6S image and - render the card reader not working -the ATI graphic card in VX6S was installed with nVidia driver! 2)Plastic cover (battery area) forcefully torn (see pic attached) 3)VGA port misalignment (see pic attached) 13/06/2013 (service no: MYA 1361 610) I visited the center again and made a complaint, the other technician (Mr A) approached me and he agreed and endorsed my complaint with assurance that he would alert the said technician to fix the issue. 22/06/2013 Collected the unit, item No.2 & 3 seem fixed BUT the item No 1 remains (wrong image)! It is as if the said technician doesn’t know or aware of what is going wrong and/or he is suppose to do as a PC technician. The customer service staff called Mr A (who wasn’t no duty) and want me to wait while he re-loading the correct image. I leave the unit there and walked. 29/06/2013 Collected the unit again, I requested a memory card from the staff to test the card reader but was told that they didn’t have one available! But she assured me that according to the technician it has been tested. This is what I found : 1) The original wallpaper (so as the correct image) has been installed but it look “highly pixilated”, it is as if a low resolution picture installed. 2) The rubber”stand” missing (see pic attached) 3) The card reader is NOT working totally. 30/06/2013 Returned the unit with complained and was told by the counter staff to pay for graphic card inspection!!! But she finally gave up after I argued with her, and I have since at this point of writing this message I received no call/email whatsoever on the status of my VX6S. Ps. I have sent a message to Asus Malaysia FB and was told to furnish my repair cert numbers which I duly do so and received no further contact thereafter. So, what is my rights as a user? Particulary a Asus customer, I wonder?
