Dear Art Fraternity, Today is the second Anniversary of Doyen of Kuchipudi art form Revered Shri Vempati Chinna Satyam’s Mahasamadhi. Shri Vempati’s life story, achievements, awards & rewards, unassuming command over the art form, spreading to the nook and corner of the Globe with his untiring contributions both personally and through the thousands of students that he trained in his life time are all well documented. Occasions like anniversaries gently remind us the need to rededicate ourselves to the art form by earnestly putting willful efforts to imbibe the refined qualities, impeccable attitude, learn from the life struggles & triumphs and above all continue in the same lines to propagate, promote and preserve the art form in an unalloyed fashion without distorting the original purport of the art form. His passion for Kuchipudi art form, breathing it all through his life time in a singular Margadarshi approach made many to call Him the Modern era’s Siddhendra Yogi. His works, primarily his choreographies marked by scintillating Nritta, dance movements refined and aesthetic, usage of all the essential aspects of Kuchipudi dance form carefully, won him the hearts of all those who had the honour of being part of his ballets as an artist, organisers, art lovers, partrons, art custodians, etc. Having hailed from the traditional families of the Kuchipudi art form who have painstakingly propagated and preserved the art form for centuries now, the contribution of Shri Vempati to reach out to the younger generation, making it easy and wholesome, immensely benefited discerning artists throughout the globe what with his interpretation of the Natya Sastra to suit the contemporary times without foregoing the essentials at the same time speaks volumes of his command and love for the subject. It is not every day such artists are born and work selflessly with the sole aim of propagating the art form and lets – the entire art fraternity - take the lessons from such Great Mahatmas of the art form and resolve internally to give the best efforts in the marked lines of such greats who lived with us and will continue to live forever through memories and the remarkable work which would withstand the test of time forever…
