Dear Beloved Parents I am friends with. Ever heard of AUP? That - TopicsExpress

Dear Beloved Parents I am friends with. Ever heard of AUP? That school in the Philippines where your child is either going to go there or will? Might I give just a bit of advice about the place, considering that I am a fully-fledged Aupian. FORGET EVERYTHING YOUVE HEARD ABOUT THE PLACE. AUP is not what you think it is anymore. sure, a decade ago, you might say that its a nice place to send your kids. Hey, even 5 years ago would still be a decent choice. But now? Ha. Youve heard that AUP has a nice environment to study in? Oh, you mean the hundreds of trees that theyve chopped down? The very trees that students have grew fond of over the decades? Yeah. Almost all the big ones and close ones to buildings were chopped off, AUP can be an advertisement of deforestation. A safe environment, you say? Yeah, sure. So safe, that you cant even be out and about past 6. Where the guards act like they own the premisis with their Infraction-Uzis at hand. Trigger happy guards that will cite you an infraction even if youve just been to a worship service. Oh, you mean about AUPs religious experience? Yeah yeah, I know about that. About how you dont have to be a Christian, but youre forced to join in dormitory worship because they turn off all the power. Where they can say We are inviting you to come to worship... at PIC, and then the very next sentence would be Attendance is a must. Did I mention that every worship has attendance, so if we want to have nice grades to show, were still forced to go just for attendance. The food is vegetarian you say? Oh yes, it absolutely is. You know, apart from the long lines that take you 45 minutes to get your food, having no where to sit cuz they tape up half the tables so you cant sit on one side (personally I think theyre just too lazy to clean them up later), the (still) unbearable heat inside, and the little things like never having liquid soap to clean utensils, but they wont let us borrow their own utensils, so youre left with leaving the cafeteria with poorly cleaned spoons, the cafes just a stupendous place. Hey, did you guys know that the shortcut from the Mahogany (Anthurium) dorm to the university gym is shut off? AND, the new rule thats irritating most in-campus students that have gotten accustomed to socializing at gate 3s tindahan is that you are NOT ALLOWED to go there past 6pm. For safety reasons, they say. Surely you understand. (hear me dripping with sarcasm? As if were gonna get raped on the way to grab some food. -.-) Forget about the location of the school being in a nice place. Not like we can leave anyways. Cuz they wont let you file for a gate pass unless you settle your worship absences. Once again, its alright if youre not SDA, but theyll force you to join worship just to leave. What a lovely way to bring kids closer to Christ. By force. Actually, let me retract what I said about the religious environment. Cuz we cant even hold small group worship in other dorms because the deans are not giving out any night passes anymore, and if you get caught out at night without that night past, you can be sure those Infraction-Uzis are right around the corner. Adventist Univerity of the Philippines. Where autonomy means having class even when the other schools in Silang Cavite have no class. Where we dont have class when its sunny and we DO have class when its raining. Oh sure, the Education is still top notch. In fact, they dont let you take board exams till they sift through everyone and flunk those who cant get 100%. why do you think we have high percentages? cuz they dont let the flunkees take the exam. So lets have a recap of everything. You wake up groggy, cuz theyre forcing you to go to worship, then after waiting for 30 minutes in line at the cafe jsut to grab anything to eat. Subjects that give out projects at the same time, thinking that we students have any time to do them all. And then standing in the heat wave that is cafeteria for lunch, with tables that cant handle all the students especially after convocations or Sabbath worship, more hectic school work that by the time you reach 3rd year, only 10 people out of the whole class can even pass the quizzes, then before hitting the dorm, you go to cafe one last time, and have no room to sit cuz half the tables are taped off-limits, THEN you can drop dead in your dorm. Then after? forget about going out for extra curricular activities. Its past 6 and the guards will be out prowling the place like vultures, waiting for someone to jog by at night without a night pass. (dont forget, night passes arent allowed anymore). and Gate pass for the weekend? Im sorry, but you have 4 absences in worship, so go work that out first before even thinking of leaving this prison. I dont care if you were sleepy or were studying, you didnt honor God by going to worship, therefore we are punishing you by keeping you here in this quarantine. Oh, you worked so hard to fix your absences? Thats excellent! Now go tell your parents that they have to travel 5 hours to get here, sign, and then pick you up. We wouldnt want you wandering around to who knows where (but its perfectly fine to tire out your guardians and waste money). So. Forced religion, no late night activities (meaning if you were to have good grades, you have no time for a social life other than in class), want tsinelas for food 24/7, and a gloomy environment where you cant escape? Then choose AUP! All you have to do now is pass our entrance test: the dreaded registration, where you stand in line sweating and tired and cramped and unorganized that youd go mental after not finishing your registration forms done in one day (cuz online registration is too mainstream). So pick your nickname. Adventist University of Pilahan, Always U Pay, or just plain Prison, or even the new trending saying: AUP Marshall Law, wed be happy to accept you! Just kneel and follow our absolute dictatorship, follow this Christian example of forcing students to attend worship, and stay locked up in the dorms so you wont get an infraction, and we wont kick you out. Love, AUP. -A rant by a devastated AUPian Original post: https://facebook/brantdc/posts/10202363235984272?fref=nf
