Dear Brian Kibler- How important is the Lore to SolForge? - TopicsExpress

Dear Brian Kibler- How important is the Lore to SolForge? On a scale of -- Brothers War (Very Important- one story lasts multiple years) Mirari Saga (Somewhat Important- stories last more than a year) or NeoWalkers (Less Important- stories last a year) or PlaneHopping (Not Important- stories dont last a year) ? Do you plan to improve on how SolForge tells its Lore compared to how Magic tells its Lore? If you have e-books dreamed, even if theyre not close to happening, but if you have the idea of them, and you want to keep the Story a little more cohesive than the Post-Mending Flavor is, then I could feasibly see myself weaning off of Magic. I dont think I have funds for two games though, and Ive invested a lot of time and resources into Magic, and I doubt that SolForge will have a Black Lotus that I can collect now and pay for all the rest of my cards in the future. I dont know much about SolForge, except really, just this article. Nice Phage! No really I mean it-- you dont just leave good ideas lying on the ground uncopied- MTG, D&D, LOTR-- the history of gaming is rich and depends on copying the good stuff as many times over as possible :) I know I could easily look for web content about Set 1 for the Mechanics and Gameplay of SolForge, but specifically, to be distracted from Magic I would really want to be drawn into the Lore, and if SolForge is copying Modern Magic for how to execute Lore instead of Old School Dominaria Magic, which kept an amazing epic going on for ten years, then Im not sure what I should do-- Where do you see SolForges Lore going in the next *five* years? With as few spoilers as possible, vaguely do you think many of the rules of how the world is are going to be the same and that the characters will segue naturally and remember previous generations of heroes, or will change occur rapidly and the game possibly look like it has a slight case of Lore Memory Loss with the plot moving every year and....not really giving a satisfying closing chapter before forgetting cool scenes and people? I guess-- to be straight to the point-- just *how much* are Forgeborn like Planeswalkers, and how much do you plan to reprint them or print them with same name but new titles and abilities....and not evolve their Lore at the same pace as their Mechanics? Die-hard Vorthos here, man. Honestly, if you cant say, Id take that as a good sign that maybe it means youre working on stuff and just cant give spoilers, but if you can say *and* the answer is yes were definitely going for a rich lore for the cast and plots that will go in a straight line for a good while, then that would be great news. If you cant say *anything* because you just dont know and theres a chance but nothing definite....then I want to know how I can help SolForges Vorthos community. :)
