Dear Brothers and Sisters, Trust you all had a great Thanksgiving celebration. We had 45 people join us for a Thanksgiving potluck feast. It is a joy to remind ourselves of all the things we are thankful for, especially for our salvation. It is because of Gods kindness and mercy that we saved. He is the one who changes our lives. In 1990, Kirk Cameron was a child television star appearing on the television show “Growing Pains.” “I was rich, I was young, I was famous, I could do anything I wanted with whomever I wanted said Kirk. He had more than just legions of fanatic fans. He also had stalkers and kidnapping threats, and was sometimes driven to the set in a bulletproof car. It got him thinking about his own mortality. He had it all, but still felt empty.Cameron started reading the bible and going to church. He became a Christian, but says his transition had some growing pains of its own. It took several years before he fully accepted the mercy of Christ. Kirk describes that last struggle he had before becoming a Christian: “Really, it was ultimately when somebody encouraged me to look at my own conscience and helped me to understand that a God who is holy and good, if He were to look in the dark corners of my heart, which He does, and if all my sin came out as evidence of my guilt, on the day I stood before Him I would be absolutely guilty. I wouldnt be able to bribe my way out of a courtroom. I wouldnt be able to buy my way with all my money and celebrity. I would ultimately have to give an answer for the life that I have lived. I could see that it was Gods forgiveness and His mercy that I needed, and that was provided through Christ on the Cross for those who will receive Him as Lord and Savior. That is how I came to Christ.” It is only by God’s great mercy that we receive salvation through Jesus Christ.Today, praise the Lord for His mercy and give thanks that He is a merciful God. “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” – 1 Peter 1:3 May He greatly bless and encourage your heart this week. Love, Dave Yumen Titus 3:3-7 - New American Standard Bible For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
