Dear Caledonia, I was, of course, upset, though not entirely surprised, to have received the divorce papers. Having been mostly living apart these last few years has, I suppose, made us both become more independent. And yet I cannot help but think about those things Ill miss. As much as I teased you about your fair complexion and ginger hair, it is none the less, an endearing feature. Your drinking used to drive me nuts sometimes, but it was always compensated for by your sense of humour, even though half the time Id need a translator to know what on earth you were talking about. And yes, your culinary preferences were not to my taste, but its amazing how one can adjust to deep fried Mars bars and haggis. Of course, it was impossible to play games with you. You were always fiercely competitive when playing against me, for some reason. None the less, Im sure, if wed stuck at it, we could have made things work. On a more practical note- I will be holding out for you to pay your share of the bills, and cant afford to take on your share of the overdraft. I think thats only fair. I wish you well for the future, and know Ill miss the good times. Dont become a stranger. Love, as always, Albion
