Dear Citizen, SOWED Kenya a health driven, gender and human rights organization cordially invites you to participate in Citizen Dialogue Forums (CDF) convened by Twaweza Communications Trust and SOWED Kenya with support from the Ford Foundation. As you are well aware, governance is too important a civic exercise to be left to leaders alone. Public participation is a civic duty and a responsibility envisioned in the constitution. It is an articulate strategy for governance that seeks to empower citizens by bringing decision-making power closer to them. This is the whole rationale around which the essence of devolution in the current Constitution is premised. It has one objective; to empower people by giving them an opportunity to decide on matters of importance to their lives. In summary -citizen participation is the transfer of power close to those most affected by the exercise of power. As a citizen do you feel that you have been empowered sufficiently and accorded adequate opportunities to participate more meaningfully than in the last constitutional dispensation in the exercise of power through County and National governance?
