Dear Citizens of North Eastern Nigeria, WE DESERVE BETTER, WE - TopicsExpress

Dear Citizens of North Eastern Nigeria, WE DESERVE BETTER, WE MUST SAY NO TO FAILURE...! There is no time for self pity nor there is time to lick our wounds, this is the time to stay alive and be brave enough to fight terror. Nevertheless, we have the right to recollect that in the past, our region has been a hub of productivity. We compete favorably with other regions in terms of livestock, cotton, groundnuts, corns and other farm produce. We are into transportation and haulage across the world and we are host to all global citizens. Our region was one of the most peaceful and hospitable destinations for tourists. We are known for religious tolerance, knowledge and rich cultural heritage. Proudly, we have produced the first Nigerias Prime Minister, and that shows we are politically inclined. As if we are being envied for all these, there comes the enemy within that crawled and sneaked into our lives through our porous minds and we became highly infected with most deadliest human mind infection known as corruption. It is indeed the deadliest and the most destructive to mankind. It negates and melts the most strongest and flawless characters of human to the most weakest of all. It is the work of corruption that made us loose track on our good backgrounds. We use to love each other, we were one family and our brothers and sisters keepers, we use to share what we have through our communal platforms, our worship centers were more of reformational grounds. Violence was never close to our boundaries, it was only heard from passerby. We lost all of these when we failed to blend our traditional values with religious teachings, when we fail to understand the need to adopt knowledge and discard spirituality, we failed to appreciate and value the elements of wisdom behind communal existence and humanity. Our situation worsen when those of us that are privileged to be given responsibilities failed to understand that, leadership is a burden and it is Devine that is why leaders are selfless and exalted above the masses. As such, they have allowed selfishness to control their minds until greed culminates their sense of responsibilities. In their leadership positions of many, they steal all that belongs to the people, they steal even our hope, future and aspiration. They took the largest portion of the land and build castles not from their sweat but, our tears and blood. Amongst the present crops of leaders, most of them preferred the evil titles that describe their innermost essence and qualify them in a perfect manner to what they represent. Such are the most wicked, greedy and most corrupt among the politicians we have today. They enjoy the cry of the bereaved, they find humor in the faces of misfortunes. In their leadership roles, they manipulate our laws, the people and the resources to their favor. They block all manner of effort towards economic development and freedom until the masses are suffocated and become very weak. In such saturated point we are today, some of us emerged as freedom fighters against the long aged exploitation in the oil producing areas and some of us decided to use religion to gain their own freedom. In both ways to freedom, one thing that is common which is very destructive to the nation is violence.it is to the detriment of the larger and poor citizens known as masses that violence should remain the only means for struggle. We have seen what happened in Niger Delta and the ugliest form of emancipation is what is going on in my region, the North Eastern Nigeria. Today, the wrath of such struggle by a handful citizens has created the most complicated and deadliest situation among us. Nigerians within and outside the region are no more united and our diversity has becomes a disadvantage to us. We are suspicious of each other and working tirelessly to apportion blame to one another. The biggest question of the moment is, who has the power to bring this situation under control and how comes, the situation got out of hand? The answer is simple, Government must not only be in charge but, in control of every situation, more especially, Security and Welfare of the people. There is no point arguing that the government of the day is either responsible or not responsible. It is the responsibility of the government of the day in every part of the world to ensure that security is guaranteed. Therefore, the Goodluck Ebele Jonathans Administration is responsible for the termination of the insecurity crisis in the Northern region. It is an act of failure for the Government to give excuses when citizens and their properties are being wasted on hourly basis. It is crass assumption coming from the Presidency that Northerners are responsible so, they must find ways to end it. For the period of over two years, the crisis have been at its peak. It is no doubt that this administration is not capable of dealing with the situation. It is therefore very important we take the decision to bring in another set of leaders that will give us security. We deserve to have the most essential aspect of survival which is security. Without security, there will never be peace and without peace, there is no comfort. We need peace and comfort to be able to live a normal life. Incidentally, the general elections are here, we must not be tricked into casting our votes to same politicians that have failed to save us from the hands of terror. Let us not make the mistake of allowing them to force themselves back on us. Meaning, we must not allow rigging or any form of electoral malpractices to take place. We have the responsibility to chart a new course and a better future. When other people across other regions are busy developing their region, we are busy killing ourselves. Kindly say no to terrorism, say no to poor leadership and say no to rigging. May our good prayers be answered! IF THE WAR IN FAR IRAQ WILL DETERMINE THE POLITICAL VICTORY OF THE PRESIDENT OF UNITED STATE. HOW COMES, THE INSECURITY CRISIS WITHIN OUR OWN COUNTRY WHICH OUR PRESIDENT HAS FAILED TO CURTAIL WILL NOT BE HIS BIGGEST CHALLENGE? LET US WATCH OVER HIS FAILURE THE WAY HE WATCHED OVER THE VICTIMS OF TERROR!
