Dear Community, This year has been especially taxing on us. Friday may have been the worst tragedy we have ever experienced. My heart goes out to all those affected. I am incredibly moved by how we, as a community, have banded to support each other. Last night will always be one of the most powerful moments of solidarity in the history of Isla Vista. We can and will move forward, stronger together. Ive never been more proud to be a part of this community. I love you all. A good friend texted me yesterday saying that he cares about me and he doesnt say it enough. Please, contact those you love and tell them you care. It seems small, but it will mean the world to them. Life is too short to not say it more often. Thank you to all who have organized events to reflect on this tragedy. Thank you to the alumni across the world who have supported us. Thank you to those who have shown unprecedented support to each other. Thank you to those who have worked tirelessly to bring us information. Thank you to the police and emergency responders. Thank you to our peers at other UCs for your acts of kindness and support. Thank you to the community for coming together and being strong during dark times, because only together we can overcome this.
