Dear Dili Expats, since group members were very impressed regarding my traffic advise on the occasion of the statue event in Comoro yesterday, I take this opportunity to provide another small piece of Public Service as follows: - Tomorrow 20th May 2014 (National Holiday) there will a commemoration for the restoration of independence of Timor-Leste outside the Government Palace organized by the Ministry of Statal (Ministry of State Administration and Territorial Management). The event will start at 08:00 hours with the flag raising ceremony and at 16:00 hours for flag down, but the organizer will close the access road around the Government Palace from 0700- 1200 and 15:00 -18:00 (see attached map). - A separate event commemorating Fretilin’s 40 years anniversary is scheduled to take place at the Tasi Tolu parade ground at 14:00, hosting a number of celebrities and officials as well as large numbers of spectators between 14:00 and 18:00 hours. In addition to that a concert arrangement will be staged outside Government Palace on Tuesday night. Associated substantial traffic disturbances and delays are likely to occur in all cases. Please find attached a map showing the road blocks related to the Government Palace event for your information.
