Dear Distraught Mom who sent the following message to us with no contact information to give us a chance to set the record straight, I would like to address your concerns here and hope you see them because your message was slightly inaccurate. I think it is really sad that you say you want to help people though you require things that some people do not have; like, a home address; some people do not have a roof over their head they are living in their cars. Some people do not have a family; a single man working three part time jobs to put gas in his car to stay warm at night. A single man who just told me last night when I asked to pray with him that he has tried and God does not like him. Yes, it was a great opportunity and yes, I did pray with him and encourage him and yes, I told him God not only likes him but He loves him and this too shall pass. I do not see anywhere in the Bible where it says give me your address and prove to me you have bills you can not pay, then maybe I will help you. What a shame that you have turned the love of God into a maybe. Sincerely, A distraught mom Were not sure exactly where you received your information from. We have many homeless people in our system and would NEVER and have NEVER turned anyone away because they have failed to provide an address. We do prefer to have an address on file in case we have a mailing to send out and in most cases, these homeless individuals are able to provide a family members address but we still have people in our system whos address field simply says Homeless. We applaud your efforts in praying with that man and showing him Christs love but also wanted a fair opportunity to explain exactly how we operate at the Big Reach Center of Hope. Our main goal is to give hope so we assure you, we would have been able to accommodate that mans situation.
