Dear Dr. Joyce Ashuntantang (affectionally called my sister - TopicsExpress

Dear Dr. Joyce Ashuntantang (affectionally called my sister Joycee), I was up at 2 AM today Cameroon time like I’m sure many other women across the continent. I can attest that there was at least one in Yaoundé as I was listening in, and at the end, you called Rev. Acha-Mofor to close in with a word of prayer. Congratulations for your great moderating skills and as previous posts highlighted, I was truly inspired by all the panelists. Wow, when one listened in, one could hear the challenges that these great women leaders have had to overcome like Dr. Omofolabo Ajayi-Soyinka who had to face challenges (such as the severe ill health of her husband and daughter in the same week) but still kept on keeping on with her three life principles which she willingly shared. I would like to say thank you to her. Now over to you WOW ! WOW ! WOW ! My sister !!! No one could present you better than Dr. Chia. She said it all, we feel so privileged to know you. My ! My ! My ! You gave us secrets on how to overcome life challenges and still keep our energy and our joy for life. Thanks for sharing your testimony of how you overcame the tragic loss of your sister who was accidentally drowned, two of your dear family members (Dad and Mom - the pillars of your life) in a tragic car accident within a short period of time, and divorcing after 13 years of marriage --- you still pursued your education, kept your “enthusiasm” after having learned how not to rush into turning lemons into lemonade for fear of putting in it too much sugar. You just kept it real dear (as you usually do) when you mentioned how in the winter when your knees start hurting, you take it easy and not envy nor compare yourself to someone else for you cannot compare apples with oranges. So as not to bash the teleconference surprise (since you mentioned it was taped and will be made available to all), I will keep it short but last but not least, you invited every one of us to look for a solution on the inside. Kudos to you, my sister ! It was good to listen to you especially your spontaneous and down-to-earth way of handling the whole teleconference as well as after the show moments “I know how to start taping but I need to figure out how to turn this off” and how people from all over the US called you in and expressed their support. It was worth it all to stay up past 2 AM to be treated to the red carpet type intellectuals (women) who all showed us that success is not a straight path ; Even though we must face challenges, it must not deter us from reaching our destiny. Thanks for organizing such an insightful international conference which portrayed the dignity of the educated women on your panel who I know will serve as mentors to all of us. Thanks for sharing your personal experiences and much congratulations for the great capacity of each and every one of the panelists to transmit their passions. Bravo SIS JOYCEE AND GOD BLESS YOUR ENDEAVORS!!! Your sister MICHELLE xoxoxoxoxoxo
