Dear English Language Teachers, As the First British Council International Conference is approaching, which is secheduled for 8th and 9th May, here are more useful details about the Conference. Registration You will receive your badge at the registration desk on the first day of the conference. The badge entitles you to access all sessions. Please note the room capacity for each session, shown in the schedule enclosed in this brochure. You must wear your badge at all times. Access to sessions is strictly by badge only and is on a first-come-first served basis. There will be no replacement badge if you lose yours. The ELT resources exhibition (at the entrance area) is open to all. Information desk Information desk will be staffed by our stewards during the registration times as well as during the whole conference to assist with general information about the conference. The information desk will be located inside the Main Hall near the British Council Teaching Centre stand. Conference photography The conference photographer will be taking photographs of the sessions for post-conference use on our website and Facebook page, and possibly in other advertising and promotional materials. If you do not wish your photograph to be used, please inform the photographer at the time. Catering Water will be served in the Exhibition Hall on both days of the conference. Catering facilities will be available on the ground floor inside ESAA building throughout the day for the participants to purchase snacks and drinks at different times. ELT resources exhibition There is an ELT resources exhibition, open to all for the length of the conference, showing the latest published materials and teaching resources and equipment. Do take time to visit and re-visit the exhibition stands during the conference. You do not need to register to access the exhibition. General Information 05 Look out for discounts and freebies! The exhibition is open from 1100 to 1700 on Thursday and from 830 to 1830 on Friday. For safety and security, please do not try to enter the exhibition outside these times. Certificates of attendance Conference certificates of attendance will be available for you to print on demand. Just claim it from our stewards at the registration desk and a copy of your certificate will be printed. Please note that the certificate printer will be closed at 1700 on Friday. We advise you to print your certificate during the conference days instead of waiting for the last minute. We will not send your certificate after the event. Your Feedback Your feedback on this conference will be a great help in planning next year’s conference. We would be grateful if you could complete our scorecard form which is enclosed in this brochure to let us know what to keep and what to change. All completed feedback entries received by Friday 9th April (before 1700) will be entered into a final draw at the closing from 1800 to 1830. The Final Draw There will be a final draw happening at the closing ceremony on Friday 9th from 1800 to 1830 at the Large Auditorium (Casbah). All the participants who hand their feedback form (enclosed in this brochure) to our stewards at the registration desk will enter this draw to win prizes such as an IPAD 4,HP laptop, SAMSUNG Galaxy S3 as well as a set of valuable ELT books from the exhibitors at this conference. General -Please turn your mobile phone/cell phone to silent during sessions. -Smoking is prohibited inside the building. -We regret that no responsibility can be taken by British Council for the loss of personal belongings or for accidents. Programme changes Changes made to the programme after the printing of this Conference Programme will be displayed on notice boards located on the ground floor area as well as the second floor. Please check the presentation message boards frequently for last minute changes and cancellations. We are looking forward to seeing you at the Conference.
