Dear Facebook Friends and Family, both nuclear and extended, I love Christmas!!!!!! It is the time of year that makes me even more happy than usual. For me it is a time of good food, family gatherings, and watching as the world around me finds many different ways to make a real difference in the lives of others. It is a time of Lay A Way Angels, donations to the red kettle campaign, working in soup kitchens or donating clothes to the Good Will. The Warm Hearts Warm Coats campaign collects coats for the many who otherwise might experience the ravages of the cold weather is amazing. There are also plans to send care packages to our soldiers in the field and school children collect all kinds of things in the spirit of giving. The list goes on and all and it is going on all over this great nation of ours. As we get up this morning and begin all that is Christmas I want to remind you that the Spirit of Christmas and all the good intentions that we have today that Christmas is really all about LOVE. Christians across the planet celebrate the birth of a child, the love of his mother and father, and the beginnings of a life that was dedicated to teaching others a way to live that encouraged us to live a life of love, forgiveness, and empathy. Celebrate today my dear friends! Be a loving person today! Set aside those bad feelings and memories and recognize that the human condition is one that is frail at best and crazy at its worst. Be ready to forgive knowing that you will need to ask for forgiveness…..maybe even today. Extend yourself to others and know that random acts of kindness make a real difference and are necessary to make the world a better place. Be thankful today for all that you have and who you are as a person. Love until it hurts and then love some more…it is why you are here on Earth. I have two sons I love more than life itself, two daughter in laws I think are amazing, a happy but busy 11 month old grandson and a wife who puts up with all of my crazy. One brother, three sisters, brother in laws, and nieces and nephews round out a great nuclear family. I have friends and family that mean a great deal to me and more memories than I can count of people and times gone by that are part of my very extended family. Camp Hope and all its people are my dear and important friends. I have good health and am of sound mental capacity…..well, it depends who you ask. What other presents could a man ask for? I am blessed. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I pray that the New Year ahead gives you many chances to love, forgive, smile, laugh, spend time with those that you love, and give to those who need your help and support.
