Dear Facebook friends and Houston musicians. Im now writing to tell you about the experience I had with Mykal Ali. I made the mistake of hiring the Mykal Ali trio for a private party and provided my Fishman Tower system for the band and clients for announcements etc.. what a disaster it turned out to be for everyone involved. After he was basically booed off the stage he proceeded to argue with both the host of the party and the staff of the restaurant. He threatened to start throwing punches and was escorted off the premises by security. Knowing he had probably sabotaged the show and this getting paid he decided to steal my Fishman tower sound system and hold it as collateral for payment! He is now asking for an additional $200 on top of original agreed price as late payment and claims the Houston Local Musicians Union has is back..and that I should deliver payment to Unions director and only then I would get my property returned! Did I get what I deserve for hiring him? What should I do? Anyway this is a lesson I wanted to share with my Houston musician family and anyone else out there! Stay away from this man!
