Dear Facebook friends, i truly enjoy staying in touch with you, seeing your lives, sharing moments and random thoughts and projects of my own. However, i will not be installing the new facebook messenger on my phone or any other device. For now messages appear to be accessible from the computer, so as long as that is an option I will most likely continue. It is possible I will move to another social platform, but not sure what is out there or if any of my friends will be changing their communication vehicle (which is the point of social media, right?) Anyway, it is too bad. At one point in time i might have been willing to pay a subscription fee to FB (not unlike a phone service) but they have proven to be ridiculously sneaky and underhanded, subverting messages, posts, and personal information. Why would anyone pay to be at the mercy of their whims? For now, i will guardedly monitor and upload posts, since facebook is literally the only platform i know of that includes so many of you, my dear friends. If a mass exodus is to occur, please do let me know if you move to a different app or platform. Bummed, but not stupid. (Sb)
