Dear Freestylers, Wow! A major lesson learnt here for me on social media. In my bid to encourage customers to think about their ordering options during peak and off-peak times, the message has certainly been taken way off road – and in fact changed. I would never make ‘demands’! Those of you who know me, and know my business would absolutely know this was never my intention. I am in this business because I love it. Firstly, thank you for your feedback and comments. Whilst some were directed at me personally (sorry guys, I am human), all have been taken on board. From this experience there are positives - and Im looking forward to making the Freestyle experience an even better one. I love that everyone has been so passionate. After being in this industry for so long Im still passionate about Freestyle and my fabulous customers. Freestylers know that Freestyle has been built around the very essence of sharing yummy food and company. Half our menu is share plates and of course our desserts are all sharers! It does upset me that this has been forgotten by the headline hunters. However, as mentioned above, it’s a lesson for me in social media! Some comments mentioned changing our business model which we have done this year; in January we reduced the size and pricing of many of our desserts and created some yummy super healthy options too. We also have vegan/vegetarian, dairy/sugar/gluten free friendly meals. We pride ourselves on the fact that we use real, good quality ingredients and do not use packet mixes or buy in sauces/desserts. I wouldn’t work anywhere else-this has been my baby for 17 years! I love this crazy industry called hospitality. I love seeing my customer’s faces when they experience an amazing dessert. It’s what makes me smile. It makes me get out of bed every day. I’ll simply say this – the past few days have been upsetting and certainly a ride on the social media roller-coaster. Was I strapped in well enough? Probably not. One thing is for sure though, Freestyle Tout will open tomorrow and every day after that. And I’ll be inside, so come on in and say hi. Cheers, Martin :)
