Dear Friend in Christ, Have you ever had anyone remark to you that they don’t see what’s wrong with this or that? This is probably because this person is ignoring two key texts. The first one says Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If a man loves the world the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15. And the other is the defining text. It says, Dont you realize that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. James 4:4. The fact is that a person who is a friend of the world and its culture at the end of the day will not be able to distinguish between right and wrong and when they attempt to do so someone will probably accuse them of being judgmental. A person who applying the Scripture, has learned to tell truth from error is not being judgmental rather they are discerning. God’s call to us today is “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,” 2 Corinthians 6:17. Before I close, I invite you to read again 1 John 1:9 and James 4:4 as well.
