Dear Friends, Earlier this month Greenpeace International had their activist climb my city of Machupicchu and shine a beam on the mountain top that called for climate action. Machupicchu is a sacred ground to the Incas, my people, my family, and place where my parents were married! I contacted Greenpeace expressing my concern and I was shut off by a we all have an obligation, and we are trying to do what is best to save the planet response. This was all done with out authorization or consent from the Peruvian public. Most recently, they illegally entered the into the Nazca lines, to put up a similar message. Nazca also considered to be a sacred site. This is in no way shape or form an acceptable approach to dealing with the climate disparities today.
