Dear Friends , I am writing to let you know that I am running a marathon for another social cause. I will be participating in Istanbul Marathon (istanbulmarathon.org/en ) on behalf of AÇEV’s “Women Are Running To Life” Project. My goal is to support this worthy project, which will help empower women through literacy training. The donations I collect will be used to enable more women to participate in the project and receive the literacy certificate after 3-months of literacy classes. I feel confident that the training the women will receive through this project will no doubt improve their lives. Once they learn to read and write, these women will be able to participate in social life independently, access information freely and find jobs more easily. They will be able to better support their children and seize the chance to lead a happier life. The women will change the world through reading and understanding… AÇEV aims to reach 850 illiterate women, who haven’t had the chance to get an education, living in the socio-economically disadvantaged areas in the provinces of Van and Gaziantep. Those who had ran for ACEV in the Istanbul Marathon already collected donations enough to reach 336 women.
