Dear Friends, I wanted to let all of you know what happened yesterday morning at the meeting of the Greene County Industrial Development Board where they voted to send a new application to TDOT for permission to run their pipeline to the Nolichucky River since the first one was denied. If you believe in free speech, this will be difficult for you to watch. https://facebook/photo.php?v=697098480327636&set=o.240125856178528&type=2&theater Eddie Overholt, a well respected community member, long-time business owner, and veteran was arrested because he asked the board members to please speak up because the attendees could not hear them as they were almost whispering this so called public meeting. No one was permitted to speak aside from two US Nitrogen employees. Another person was thrown out at the adjournment of the meeting because he said Tom Ferguson, the president of Greene County Partnership said the public would be permitted to ask questions.
