Dear Friends, Im writing from Colombia where Ive been doing - TopicsExpress

Dear Friends, Im writing from Colombia where Ive been doing HCIs Childrens Ministry Training at Ruth Riobals church in Cali. We had 30 churches represented in the training and the passion for ministering to the next generation is burning bright! God is moving here in a powerful way and Im so excited to be a part of it. Weve made a plan for the Institute here in the future and were able to give them boxes and bags of childrens ministry teaching aids and supplies. Ill be writing a full report with pictures after I get home. God supernaturally provided for this trip with part of the money coming from beautiful people here in Colombia too! But... The well has gone dry elsewhere. Since the incredibly fruitful trip to Uganda in August, giving has dropped off substantially. Ive received numerous encouraging remarks to my updates and postings since then but very little financial support. I shared the urgent need for us to raise $30,000 more to complete all of our projects for 2014 (originally it was $50,000 - so thankful for money that came in or the needs He met other ways!). No new support. With the ministry thriving around the world in so many ways we are baffled by the change. And now we face some serious decisions. Due to the lack of funds we were unable to send the full amount last month to Haiti or Uganda for the homes and street center. This month we are facing crisis if more funds dont come in soon. Our team has been praying but we need your help. Will you pray with us? Ministry for HCI would be much less stressful if we simply closed the home in Haiti. For the last three years weve received little support for it and it has drained our general fund. Weve nothing left to cover it this time. In all honesty, if we didnt have the home in Haiti HCI would be financially stable. So what is God saying to us? Close the home? What happens to the 16 children who are being raised there? If He wants the home to continue, the funds must be pledged or donated soon. As I said, it would be easier without the home...yet each time I pray I feel God saying to keep it going. At this point, thats easier said than done! :) I prayed with Ruth tonight about the situation. She told me to tell people the truth about the need and allow them to decide if they want to help or not. Pretty sound advice. I want to keep the home open in Haiti. I want to see the good things happening everywhere else to happen in Haiti. I dont want to be driven out because of money - not when we have teams ready to travel there, children in the home growing in Jesus and doing so well and a godly staff in place. Weve worked to hard to get to this point. But I cant keep it open anymore without help. How can you help? Its not as hard as you think. We can take care of this crisis with: 20 ChildFeed pledges of $57 per month for Haiti. 20 ChildFeed pledges of $57 per month for Uganda. 350 more 400 Hands pledges of just $25 for the our General Fund. 30 one-time donations of $1000 to complete HCI projects before the New Year. If every Facebook friend gave something wed EASILY reach our goal. Theres other ways people could help too - Ive often thought that if everyone who ever raised funds to go on an HCI mission trip would do just one fundraiser to support HCI we would have everything we need to care for the children they ministered to while there. Wouldnt that be awesome? I HATE sending these posts. Im pretty sure you dont like them either. :) You should know by now that I dont ask for help unless we truly need it. Many of you have said you believe in what we do and love our children. Now I need your help. Ill be praying much through the night and on my flight home tomorrow night...please pray with me. And if you can give anything to help us I will be sincerely grateful. I am absolutely convinced that HCI was birthed 20 years ago for this very hour when the darkness is deepening and ministry to children is so desperately needed. God has opened many doors and His blessing has been on the work in new and exciting ways. With or without the home in Haiti we will continue to do this ministry. The call is clear and our commitment is absolute. I have to say though from my heart - I want the home in Haiti to stay open. I love the children. Now Im praying you or someone you share this need with will hear their cry too... HCI; PO Box 207; Mt. Pleasant, MI 48804 heartcryinternational Pressing Onward, Carla Ives HCI Founder
