Dear Friends, Julie’s dad, Jerry Johnson, died this morning at 4:45 am at the University of Minnesota Hospital surrounded by his wife Trudy and his children – Brad, Artie, and Julie. I was honored to also be in the room when he past away. He had been a patient there since the beginning of July undergoing treatments to prepare for a stem cell transplant to hopefully cure his Leukemia. He developed some serious complications this past week from the treatments and he was unable to recover. He fought with dignity and determination and wanted to do everything he could do to try and beat the cancer and was aware of the risks he faced with the treatment. His passing was peaceful and the presence of Christ was felt in the room. We returned home this afternoon and Julie will be in Seneca the next couple of days with her mother and brothers. Funeral plans are for a visitation at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills on Tuesday evening and the funeral will be at Mt. Sterling Lutheran Church in Mt. Sterling WI at 11: 00 am on Wednesday. Please continue to keep our family in your prayers and thoughts. They have meant so much and have been felt ever since he was diagnosed last January.
