Dear Friends, NEED ADMINISTRATOR: We are in need of someone to help Maria Regina in administrating the Euphrosynos Cafe True Orthodox Forum. Since Maria is with the Autonomous Metropolia (former Milan Synod in the USA), the candidate for this second administrative position will need to be a member of the GOC, ROCA, or Romanian Old Calendar Church, for reasons of balance. The ideal candidate will be tolerant but firm, truly interested in learning and dialogue, and thick-skinned. Its perfectly alright for a candidate to apply who does not intend to post that much personally, but who intends to focus mostly on the administrative duties. NEED MODERATORS: We are also seeking two moderators to help out, who will have less responsibility than the administrator, and will serve as their assistants. We are looking for one of them to be a member of either RTOC or ROAC. For the second slot, preferential consideration would be given to a Matthewite, but there will otherwise be no restriction. It should be noted that by participating in the administration of the Euphrosynos Cafe, no one is required to subscribe to any type of Old Calendar Branch Theory that purports that all Old Calendar Synods are equal and part of the Church. The purpose of the ECafe is for people who identify as True Orthodox to meet and discuss issues in a (hopefully) academic context--learning about historical issues, breaking down barriers to understanding, and becoming better informed about theological and canonical issues--but this does not require that all participants accept all other participants ecclesiastical status. More important objectives of the site, which we hope will be developed more strongly as time goes on, include sharing spiritually profitable readings, book ideas, fasting recipes, and parish recommendations. Euphrosynos Cafe also exists to help True Orthodox people connect and make friends, which is especially helpful to those who are isolated from regular parish life.
