Dear Friends. Safetipin is a mobile application that collects data on safety in cities. The app is currently being used in New Delhi, Jakarta, Bogota, Kolkata, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Chennai, Guwahati, and Bengaluru. The data generated has been used by citizens to enhance their safety and for the purpose of advocacy. To promote women’s safety and understand how people use public spaces across the world, safetipin along with some of its partners is happy to announce an International Photography Competition:City Vibes: Engaging with Public Spaces. The partners in this include The North East Network in Guwahati, Samyak in Pune, Swayam in Kolkata, Prajnya in Chennai, Sakhi in Kerala and Jagori in New Delhi and we will together celebrate the 16 Days of Activism against VAW through the photographs that we receive from around the world. Entries can be submitted till 11.30pm GMT on Friday, 5th of December 2014. All entries will be submitted on Safetipins facebook page .The photographs with the maximum votes will win. Voting will continue till the 7th of Dec,and the results will be announced on the 10th of Dec. The last day of 16 days of activism. Entries should be submitted via the SafetiPin Facebook page https://facebook/safetipin?fref=ts 1.Entries must be labelled with the entrant’s name. Otherwise will not be accepted. The entries must include a valid email address for communication. 2.Image Size should have a long dimension of at least 1000 pixels and no more than 3000 pixels. Save file as (JPG) with maximum quality. The File size should be no more than 4 Mb. All Uploaded Entries are FINAL 3.All entries will be displayed on the SafetiPin facebook page and will be available for voting till the 7th of December, 2014. The winner(s) will be announced on the 10th of December, and will be based on the number of votes received. There will be a critics choice award which will be announced as well. The decision of the judges on the critics choice award will be final and no further correspondence will be entertained. 4.All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it. 5.Only one entry can be submitted per person. Late or corrupt entries will not be accepted. Entries cannot be accepted except through the designated page on Facebook. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.
