Dear Friends, The cancer battle came into my life this year as some dear friends faced this gripping and life changing disease. I am participating in the 2014 Challenge Ride to help the cause: Moving toward a world without cancer in honor of these brave woman. All of you have loved ones who have faced cancer too, so I will ride for them as well. Love, Sandy About my team: On Sunday, November 9th, 2014 our ARCS Foundation Tampa Bay (Achievement Awards for College Scientists) team will be participating in the 2014 Cure on Wheels Bike Challenge, Presented by AAA. ARCS Foundation Tampa Bay is committed to enriching the quality of life in Florida by attracting outstanding scholars who are completing graduate degrees in Cancer Biology Ph.D. Program at Moffitt in the College of Arts and Sciences, and College of Marine Science at University of South Florida. All money raised by our Cure on Wheels team will be donated towards a Cure on Wheels Named Scholar Award to support a graduate student in the Cancer Biology Ph.D Program at Moffitt at the University of South Florida. Riding the Cure on Wheels is a way to channel physical, mental and emotional energy into something much greater than the athletic accomplishment that is gained by riding. Cure on Wheels cyclists use their strength to help those who cannot. With each mile pedaled we provide valuable patient services and bring researchers closer to finding cures for various types of cancer that affect millions of people each year.
