The Ukrainian Museum and Yara Arts Group present Yara at 25: Looking Back/Moving Forward Exhibition opening party – Saturday, January 24, 2015 7:00 PM Yara at 25 Live event – Friday, January 30, 2015 7:00 PM The Ukrainian Museum 222 East 6th St, New York (212) 228-0110 ukrainianmuseum.org Come see the exhibition that is both a retrospective of Yara’s theatrical work and a look into the future. The exhibition includes costumes, instruments, photographs, props and videos from Yara’s productions at La MaMa Experimental Theatre in New York, and from performances and research expeditions in Ukraine, Buryat Republic in Siberia, Kyrgyzstan and Japan. On Friday January 30th at 7PM Yara artists will also create a live event in the exhibition to celebrate this anniversary. La MaMa is honoring our anniversary with a Coffeehouse Chronicles: Yara Arts Group Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 3PM -- La MaMa ETC 74A East 4th St New York, Yara is the focus of an event that is part artist portrait, part history lesson exploring the history of La MaMa from “Coffeehouse Theatre” of the 1960s to today. Celebrating 25 years of Yara as resident company, the event will include a panel discussion led by Svitlana Matviyenko with Virlana Tkacz, Wanda Phipps and Watoku Ueno, as well as live performances from Yara’s past shows, archival material and video.
