Dear Friends and Family, On December 30, 2014 my life was - TopicsExpress

Dear Friends and Family, On December 30, 2014 my life was impacted in a way that I would have never imagined it would be. Two armed men forced their way in to our home and with force held me at gunpoint. For the next two hours they assaulted me and took everything from our home and the church. At this time, I am unable to share with you all that I endured, but I will tell you I was in my Fathers Hand all during this time and it is only because of that that I am here today. They robbed close to $15,000 worth of items that has taken us years to accumulate. Before leaving they tied me up, both hands and feet, and told me if I got up and called the police they would come back and kill me. The moment I knew they were gone and it was safe, I worked to untie myself. I made my way to the street and screamed for help. Forty minutes after the ordeal the police were able to apprehend the two men, however, they believe there were at least four men involved in the entire robbery. Two entered our home but two more waited outside to help disperse all the stolen goods. The police were only able to recover our vehicle, which has been damaged, our wedding rings, and $90 out of the $390 in cash that I had in the home. The other men involved are still on the loose. As many of you know, Thomas was in the United States caring for his parents. I was alone in the home when it happened at 8:30 in the morning in broad daylight, and was alone for three additional days until Thomas was able to make it back to me. I’ve never had to cling more tightly to God’s promises than I had to in that moment and the three days that followed. Every day since the robbery I’ve had to give my testimony over and over again to authorities to help insure these men stay in jail. The final hearing is at the end of January. They will face up to seven years in jail if convicted. The economic state of Ecuador is in a very bad state right now, and because of this the crime rate has risen very rapidly. As of December there been a record amount of houses broken into and robbed as well as gas stations and stores in the Crucita / coastal area of Ecuador. The police are warning all foreign persons to take extra precautions to stay safe. We now have police watching our home and visiting us several times a day. To say that our lives have forever changed would be an understatement. The fear that faced me that day cannot be put in to words. Thomas and I are forever changed by this ordeal. I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father that the situation didn’t end in an even more horrible way, my life was spared, but I feel broken. Even in the midst of this horrendous ordeal, I know that God was with me. Even now, I feel His arms embrace me every moment when I feel frightened or broken. He is our great Physician and once again, I know that He is healing and restoring me and with time I will be completely made whole. Thomas and I will be returning to the U.S. for an indefinite time. It’s imperative that we are surrounded with our family and friends at this time and for me to recieve counseling. We need a time of healing and restoration. We are now in need to be on the receiving end of ministry. We would like to have time away not only for healing, but to hear the voice of the Lord, and how He would guide and direct us. We have walked in faith, trusting God every step of the way to care and provide for us as we poured our lives in to sharing His love and His word with these beautiful people. It has not been an easy journey but we have seen such incredible miracles along the way; people turning their hearts to Christ, lives transformed, marriages restored, healings, and so many other miracles. If you have supported Casting Seeds Ministry YOU have been a part of these miracles and will reap the blessings. We need your help once again. This trip back to the United States for an indefinite time of healing, restoration, and guidance is something we desperately need right now. With that are expenses that we were not prepared to meet such as travel, car rental, lodging, food, etc. If you or your church would like to bless this ministry once again, but more specifically our lives, we would be very, very grateful.
