Dear Friends and Neighbors: New Hope, Alabama has always been a community rich in history and civic pride dating back to the civil war. Though today it is among the smallest of its Madison County neighbors, it should never be overlooked or underestimated. New winds are blowing through New Hope taking our children into the future with the skills necessary to compete in the world that awaits them beyond graduation. But it will take much more than just a few to affect the change that is needed to help our children reach the dreams they desire beyond our city limits…It takes a Tribe. It will take each and every student, parent, teacher, resident, civic leader, and business owner standing together to move us forward and show our children what we can accomplish when many join together. That is the mission of New Hope Elementary and Middle School PTO. We are in desperate need of a new playground for our students to have a safe place to challenge their bodies with active play. Being a small county school, we do not have the funds allocated to replace the existing equipment, much of which dates back numerous generations. The New Hope Elementary and Middle School PTO has been working over the past year to research and raise funds to purchase a new play system that will be able to accommodate over forty children playing at one time, but we need help. Our vision is to build a new active play area in three phases. The first phase will include the installation of a new play system at the site of the existing playground. With each completed phase, this active play area will be a great resource to help our children achieve healthy bodies by being a place where running, climbing, jumping and overall fun is encouraged. The new play system will also be a community asset as it will be open to the public during non-school hours. We are asking each of our friends and neighbors to please make a Tribe Pride donation of $10.00, or more, toward the purchase of the play system. Below you will find a donation card. Simply remove and return it with your donation to the address listed, drop it by the School Office marked attention NHEMS PTO, or send it with your child to school to be collected by their homeroom teacher. Together we can do this. Together we can show our school spirit and community pride, but most importantly, together we can give the children of New Hope a safe place to play. Thank you in advance for your help. Sincerely, NHEMS PTO Sandra Thomas PO Box 283 [email protected] New Hope AL 35760 256-723-3962 /256-653-4842
