Dear Friends, do you know what day this is? Its Wednesday and.... Its Food Drop-Off Point day!!! Happy People Helping People Foundation will be at Bedok Adventure Park at 9pm to receive any food contributions and will be distributing them the homeless and needy people around that area. This will be our last Food Drop-Off Point. Reasons because: - Food Drop-Off Point has evolved into Midnight Hunger Patrol. We found out that the homeless, the box collectors, can collectors etc will not go to the drop off point to collect food because, they are either busy scavenging for boxes and cans or maybe too paiseh to accept charity. For the past weeks ,our volunteers need to walk around Bedok to find them to give the food. - Its too much of a hassle to go around the neighbourhood every week to paste posters, only to be removed the very next day. Not very environmentally-friendly too. - We have pledges from bread shops, which we feel is enough at the moment to feed the homeless and the needy at Bedok Central every night. - The Bedok Town Council manager approached us last week to inform us that they will be closing down Bedok Adventure Park to build a Community Centre. However, Bedok residents are still welcome to contribute foods if you have any that you are no longer eating. Just pack them up and drop it off at midnight, every night in front of Delight Deli at Block 204 coffee shop. Good food shouldnt be thrown away. Pass it forward to someone hungry and broke. They will very much appreciate it. If you have any food to contribute tonight, do drop by at Bedok Adventure Park and maybe chillax a bit with us and have a chat.
