Dear Friends please post the trailing messasge addressed to our PM Sri.Modiji in FB and ask all the bankers to post it for early and decent wage settlement Most respected Hon’ble Prime Ministerji, It is indeed a great pleasure and a moment of pride for me as partof Public Sector Bank that you have decided to entrust the job of garnering the accounts of unreachable when others were attempting to undermine the efficiency of the workforce of Public Sector Banks. Sensing the commitment of our Hon’ble Prime Minister to reach the down trodden, through bank accounts, we the employees/officers of PSBs wholeheartedly and voluntarily plunged into action unminding the holidays and extended hours with the sole aim of fulfilling the pet project of our Prime Minister. We appreciate the confidence level of our Prime Minister on the ability of PSB workforce that he reduced the targeted period to 5 months to open 7.5 crore accounts after our successful accomplishment of opening 1.5 crore accounts in one day. Respected sir, we the PSB employees despite various odds like - Presence of private sector banks armed with improved technology and young manpower - foreign banks was also expanding their presence in the country - shortage of manpower in PSBs after 2001 as the Govt. wanted to maintain the post SVRS employee strength - increase in average age in view of non recruitment after 2001 - frequent adoption/changes in technology from ALPM to branch centric net working to core banking solution - Pressure to go to nook and corner of the country without basic amenities - thrust on us to achieve the various segments of priority sector - Unattractive Compensation when compared to private sector counterparts We the employees with stood all the pressure and have been maintaining 70% of market share continuously and consistently expanding our services and products both horizontally and vertically. We the PSB workforce were always deriving proud of being part of nation building which is the driving force to discharge servicewith dedication. The after effect of the SVRS 2001 followed by the Government regulation of the non recruitment of workforce in our Banking sector resulted in a situation that around 70% of workforce would be retiring from the banking sector within a span of 5 years which requires to rebuild the workforce within a year or two in order to sustain the pace of development of nationalised banks. Being a service industry run with improved technological products and is ever growing, the system needs talented, educated and motivated youth. Though, the recruitment process of new blood in the Banking started from 2009 onwards, the attrition is consistently high. But it is an acceptable fact that banking sector could not retain the talents due to unattractive salary package, when compared to private sector banks and also other alternate job provider like IT industry. It may be appreciated by Hon’ble Prime Minister that it is our Endeavour to find out ways to attract/recruit and retain the educated Indian Youth in order to ensure the very survival of Indian PSBs which is always a partner in nation building. Incidentally wage revision is pending for officers/employees since Nov 2012 onwards and the offer by IBA is no way nearer to the expectation of the highly qualified and talented Indian youth who are joining the Banking sector. Hence, we request your kind intervention immediately to settle the wage at the earliest. The Banking services have become more officer oriented and we wish to furnish few demands of our officers as follows for your kind attention: 1. Initial basic minimum Rs. 30,000/= to all officers which will attract and retain the educated Indian youth 2. Running pay scale up to Scale VII as promotional opportunities will be comparatively less for our officers in the days to come. 3. Updation of pension and family pension which is very much possible from our huge corpus of pension fund available with Banks for the limited number of employees and also in the background that the current pension commitment is met through the interest earned out of corpus only. 4. Crèche facilities in all big cities and towns as today almost 1/3rd of workforce recruited are young women 5. Construction of hospitals from out of the portion of profit earned by the banking sector on the lines of ESI which would become a national asset 6. Formation of centralised employee grievance cell in IBA level 7. Comprehensive accountability policy 8. Viable and beneficial retirement insurance plan 9. As the bank officers are subjected to frequent transfer on all India basis, preference may be given in Central schools for admission for the wards of Bank Officers 10. Special allowance shall be given to people working in rural branches 11. Automatic elevation to next scale at least up to Scale III on completion of 10 years of service in respective scale subject to blemish less service 12. Compulsory 3 years of rural or semi urban services before becoming Scale IV. 13. Permission to fly on LFC economy class even by Scale I officer I crave your indulgence in the matter as the wage negotiation of Bank employees and officers is moving at a snails pace since November 2012. I sincerely hope that my communication will be taken in the right spirit and action will be initiated under your able guidance and leadership. May God shower his best to give you energy to accomplish your dream for our Nation. Sincerely yours, M.K.Anand
