Dear Future Girlfriend, I don’t know, if by now, I already - TopicsExpress

Dear Future Girlfriend, I don’t know, if by now, I already know you. Maybe you’re some girl whom I’ve known before; got lost in the hundreds of friends I have and will eventually be the greatest thing in my life. Or maybe I haven’t really met you yet. Or maybe again, youre some girl at work, wherever that may be. I wouldn’t mind, really. Wherever, whenever, let it be. Could it be, that by now, you’re already searching for that someone too? Someone who’ll be there for you through thick or thin, rain or shine, happiness or sadness. I know it sounds so cliché, but that’s how I am. I hope that when we eventually meet each other, you’ll accept me for what I am, for who I am. You’ll accept me for what I have and what I don’t. Rest assured that when that time comes, I’ll treat you the same way as you treat me, or even better if that’s even possible! I wonder what you look like. Do you look like the girls I like or you something different altogether? Are you taller than me? Are you the chinky-eyed, chubby girl that I’ve always seen as the ideal girl or are you the classical Filipina beauty? It wouldn’t matter. You may not fit my idea of a perfect girl, but I’m sure there has to be something about you that would make me look past all the physical aspects and look deeper within. I’m sure you’re that special. It’ll be nice if you’ll be really sweet. I’d appreciate if the first thing I’ll read when I wake up in the morning is a “Good morning!” from you, and not a message from Globe. Also, it’d be great if before I close my eyes and call it a night; I’ll spend about five minutes staring at your text that reads: “Good night! I love you!” Who wouldn’t want that right? If you can make me smile and give me a hug right after I finish my orals or motivate me when I’m writing my papers, that’d be something. I hope that you’ll understand that I tend to get really busy at times and may often ignore people. I hope that you’ll always forgive me for that and never take it in a bad light. It’s my friends who usually make me laugh, and I’d like you to be one of them too. I believe that part of being a girlfriend is being a friend as well. I’d like us to just hangout, joke around and act like kids who have nothing to worry about in the world. I hope that you’ll like my group of friends. I assure you, they’re really, really nice and supportive. Who knows, maybe the reason why I’ll even get to meet you is through them? I hope you’ll also like some of the things I like. I’ve always loved playing video games and it’d be great if you like that too. Maybe you even like talking trash on people you beat at video games. Maybe we could even watch a NBA/PBA game together cheering for the same team, or for opposite teams, but still managing to be civil after my team beats your team! For the past 22 years that I’ve been alive, I’ve labeled a lot of girls as “the one.” Perhaps God didn’t give me the gift of foresight. I was not able to know if the girls I’ve previously labeled as “the one” were there to stay. Maybe I’ll label a lot more of them as “the one” before I eventually get to meet you. I’m sure, when I finally meet you, God will tap me in the shoulders and whisper to my ears: “Son, she’s the one.” I hope that I’ll get to meet you soon. I know that despite all the disappointments, you will eventually come and wipe away all of those. I know that you will prove to me that there’s no use in shedding tears for things in the past. Most of all, I know that you will prove to me that good things come to those who wait. Your Future Girlfriend, Rae Evans
