Dear God, please bless our students as they return to school to take their education and academic achievement VERY, VERY, VERY seriously. Clearly, there is a direct correlation between under-education and mass incarceration - let alone premature death by gunshot. May our children become CONSUMED with their advancement whereby they turn-in every assignment, learn with total enthusiasm - all the while mindful that there was a day and time when black people were FORBIDDEN to read. I pray that they have all the things they need. Also Lord, let em know being fly is one thing, but what is TRULY fly is all As on their report card. May our college students, too, treasure every minute, value every single dollar, and make very WISE decisions. May You, Lord, remain first in their hearts. For we know that education is they key to making this world a better place, beginning with ourselves. Bless the teachers and the parents. Teachers need AMPLE resources. Parents need faith, money, and persistence. Parents need patience, too. After all, education is supposed to start at home. Thank you for all of the blessings you send daily, Lord. In your name, Amen.
