Dear Gov. Hick.... Prohibition of anything doesnt make it that much harder to purchase prohibited items. When I was in high school, it was easy to get pot if one wanted some. Market conditions are as such, if theres a need, want or desire, the market will provide. Doesnt matter if the government has banned the gizmo or the widget. The only thing that the government has created is an underground MARKET in which the stakes are higher when something is prohibited. Government banning things NEVER takes away the things, never dissolves the desire or want. When it comes to teens, the prohibited item for many then becomes that much more desirable. Parental involvement is the best source of kids not dabbling in things that are bad for them. The drug war has become an avenue for young men to find trouble. The drug war has become a conduit for a life of crime. The drug war is failing. To the best of my knowledge, teen use of pot hasnt come up and in fact, I think it has reportedly gone down. Wish I had a cite for that but Im not equipped to find that right now. Anyhow, Im not voting for him anyway. I am voting for Matthew Hess. Hess is a man of principle and an understanding of real free market economics which includes taking the government out of areas it doesnt belong...
