Dear Heavenly Father,We ask today for your protection from the personal storms that each of us are facing. Many that are praying, feel like they have struggled to keep their heads above water for so long, that they just cant keep doing it any longer... they feel weak and like they are about to go under... Others may not feel like they are in such a dire place, but its been so long since theyve seen smooth seas and clear skies, theyve almost forgotten what they look like. Help us to hear your voice above the winds of adversity. Help us to overcome the enemy and to overcome evil with good... help us to learn to praise you in the storm and to welcome the rain that you allow into our lives. Lord, we know that is one of the major goals for these tests and storms that we deal with...you want us to learn that you are our anchor and safe harbor. You want us to realize that you are our sufficiency and that your grace is enough to carry us through. Lord, we know in our hearts that you will not let us sink or go under, but sometimes our emotions betray us and what we know and feel are two different things and the enemy is always there sewing seeds of doubt and trying to cloud our vision. Help us to not lose sight of your light that guides us in the darkness. We think of the literal shipwrecks that the apostle Paul survived...you always had a plan in place to protect him and deliver him... even when things looked dire... and you faithfully do the same for each of us as well. Lord, we dont want to do things on our own... when we try to swim against the tide, all that happens is we become weak and weary. Lord, we surrender all that we are and all that we hope to be...all of our dreams and desires and we say Lord, help us to let go of the things we cling to for security and the things we think we need to help us...help us to let go, so we can let you be our life guard and so you can save us from ourselves, as well as our enemies. Lord, forgive us when we struggle against you. We know you are only trying to direct us, save us and lead us to a safe place of rest. Lord, we ask for your favor to be upon us. We ask to see your goodness and mercy. We ask to see you and know you, in ways weve never known before and we ask for your blessing to be upon us, so we can bless others. We pray to be good stewards with all that you give us, Lord. We just want to please you and to feel your loving embrace today. In the name of Jesus, we ask these things, Amen. May you find rest and shelter from the storms in the arms of Jesus today!
