Dear Homeowner, It’s that time of year again when the Super Valu Tidy Towns Competition begins.The Tidy Towns Judges will visit Waterville at an unknown date during the month of June. It is our intention to continue, along with the CE workers to maintain the public amenity and recreational areas in our village, this workload is huge and will take up all of the committee’s time. We don’t have the numbers in Tidy Towns and we are therefore writing to you to ask you to help us by taking responsibility for maintaining your own property which will greatly assist us in making our village a much more pleasant place for it’s residents and visitors and if we manage to score some extra points in the Tidy Towns Results that would be our just rewards. Waterville Tidy Towns Committee would like to take this opportunity to announce our Inaugural competition to find Waterville’s Best Presented Private Residence and Best Presented Business. The winners will receive an engraved trophy which they can display at their premises until 2014 when it will be awarded to the new winners. The winners in both categories will also receive Gift Voucher prizes. Judging will take place in August and each property will be awarded points for paintwork, floral displays/landscaping, tidiness, cleanliness and attractive but unobtrusive business displays We hope you will take up the challenge and show us what you really can do, and we look forward to seeing the results of your efforts.
