Dear Linda, Thanks to your help and that of other dedicated PETA supporters, 2014 will be a year to remember. From saving countless rabbits by convincing some of the worlds largest fashion retailers to pull angora wool from their store shelves to shutting down a major pig slaughterhouse after a PETA exposé revealed horrific abuse, your compassion and commitment to animals has helped to make these and so many other life-changing victories possible. Watch our uplifting new video today and learn about a few of the wonderful accomplishments youve helped us achieve in 2014! When you stand with PETA, you stand with countless other caring people whove helped to make us such a powerful and unflinching defender of the rights of all animals. In the past 12 months alone, your support has allowed us to do all of the following: Respond to more than 17,000 calls and e-mails about animals who are often in desperate need of our help. Weve provided more than 11,000 animals with no- or low-cost spay-and-neuter services and provided hundreds of backyard dogs with the shelter they need to survive. Conduct groundbreaking investigations that expose extreme cruelty. Our investigation of a leading Thoroughbred trainer blew the lid off an industry in which horses are routinely drugged and forced to race, even when they have painful and debilitating injuries—a case that The Guardian called perhaps the most serious blow to the U.S. racing industry in recent years. Stand up to those who exploit and abuse animals. PETAs efforts to end the loneliness and abuse of the orcas held captive by SeaWorld have helped send the companys stock and attendance numbers plummeting and has prompted major corporations—such as Hyundai, Panama Jack, and Southwest Airlines—to sever their ties with the abusement park. As far-reaching as our work is—from taking on barbaric industries to helping more than 600,000 people live more compassionate, cruelty-free lives—all of our victories add up to one thing: Were changing the way people think about animals. But as long as animals continue to be routinely exploited, neglected, and abused, its vital that we stand together and commit to ending their suffering. Will you take a first step toward helping more animals in 2015 by signing our pledge to do all you can for them in the new year? If theres one thing that I hope youll take away from watching our new video, its that youre making a difference for animals. Thank you so much, Linda, for your unwavering support and commitment to animals. Very truly yours, Ingrid E. Newkirk President youtu.be/dPdb9nRfVsI From rescuing hundreds of animals abused by the pet trade to convincing dozens of designers and retailers to remove angora wool and other animal skins from their lines, our caring supporters have helped PETA accomplish so much for animals this year. Watch our uplifting video to see some of the progress that youve helped us achieve—then sign our pledge to keep fighting for all animals in 2015! Right now on factory farms, in laboratories, and in other abusive facilities, animals are condemned to lives of horrible cruelty and neglect. I pledge to stand with PETA and do everything that I can to stop the suffering of animals in 2015.
