Dear Lord Jesis The Samaritans would not welcome you because you were on your way to Jerusalem. Even though the Samaritans shared much of the Jewish tradition, there were some differences, and so they would not even welcome you. It is a reminder that all too often we are inhospitable and unwelcoming. Give us the grace to remember to be welcoming to all. There might be differences among us, but everyone—whether immigrant, homeless, unbelieving, even sinful—are all children of our Father. They are all your and our brothers and sisters. Remind us that we all share that. Amen.
