Dear Lord of My Soul, Let Me Talk with You Please, My soul - TopicsExpress

Dear Lord of My Soul, Let Me Talk with You Please, My soul is the deepest part of my being, my true identity. It is the pure consciousness with which I came to earth. It is the essence of my being. My soul has a different perspective from that of my unchecked ego. My soul is not in competition, is not focused distinguishing itself, is not absorbing more and more information to get the edge on others, is not gaining friends to protect itself, is not running from one stimulation to the next, is not trying to strong-arm others for power, is not lying down and playing dead to avoid conflict, is not telling everyone else what to do, and is not giving to others in order to manipulate them. These are the works of an ego in over-drive. But what does the soul do...for a living? Or does it assume the image of a harp-playing cherub on a cloud? The soul is actually very active, whether I am are aware of it or not. It is the part of my being who whispers to me that you love me. It is the part of my being who always chooses 1. Serenity 2. Humility, 3.Truthfulness 4. Equanimity 5. Detachment from what pulls me away from spirit, 6. Courage 7. Sobriety, 8. Simplicity and 9. Diligence. Anything but a cloud-sitter, the soul is moving through the world in mighty ways. It is not my conscience, who shakes its finger at me when I make an error...it is the warmth of self-compassion which responds to my mistakes by saying, Try it again in another way! The soul is not hell-bent on having its way... because it has no dog-in-the fight. It knows that the ultimate story of yours, oh Lord, is unfolding and it trusts that story. The soul is relaxed and never attaches to negativity... It thrives on affirmation of my spirit and the spirit of others... The soul sees everyone as a book about you, God... a chance to see an aspect of you that would never have been seen if it were not for that person! And when that aspect of you cannot be readily seen, the soul prays to see it. Yes, the soul is busy, not a lazy strummer.... it is ready for us to shift into its energy ... It can hold us, and and nurture us.. We can live out of it... The soul is waiting....with open arms! A line from a well-known African American spiritual is: My soul is so happy that I cant sit down. ( from: Sit Down Servant). So when anyone asks ,Is there any alternative to living in this madness, I can answer, Yes, ...our soul. In your name, I pray and talk with you right now, oh Lord of my Soul! Amen
